Hello, I`m still in the process of paint correcting my car but I am pretty happy with it (thanks for the help, guys).

I`m now looking to paint correct a car that seems to be in a far worse condition. This car doesn`t get washed and is outside all the time. There is fading on some horizontal sections of the car. On the roof, there is what appears to be tar-like black material. It is stubborn and very difficult to remove. I won`t even mention the swirling but there is some of that too.

I wonder what`s a good place to start.

A good wash is probably the first step I believe. Then, maybe some decontamination product like Trix to remove the stuck on contaminants. Then I`m thinking clay followed by polish.

Since there is fading on the car, I`m thinking that using a finishing polish might be a good idea after the surface is clean. I`m not even sure if it`s safe to polish since that may remove more of the clearcoat/paint.

I`m wondering what`s a good way to go about it. Thank you for any response.
