If money was no object - what would your Microfiber closet look like?

How many different kinds of towels for what purposes? What do you use for each purpose? *purposes such as polish removal, wax removal, waterless wash, drying, etc.

This came up because I watched a video from a person called Matt Moreman (IIRC). My towels are probably in need of replacement as it sits.

I have tried most over 13 years but never found a BEST of the BEST!

Which ones did Matt recommend in his video?

I`ll give this a shot but Heath, if he posts here, is the real expert.
WW drying towel: the Microfiber Madness WaveRider is the best I`ve used, followed by the Korean WW towel from PakShak. I have not used the Dry Me A River WW towels from the Rag Company but I tend to look at serged or overlock stitched edges as a negative as opposed to banded or edgeless (but avoid hot cut edgeless for any application).
Plush drying towel: I just got the Edgeless Avalanche from the Rag Company and so far I really like it but I don`t have much sense of how it will hold up. There are bunch of other possible contenders here including the Dry Me Crazy and Everest towels that I have not used.
Polish removal: The PakShak Silver Surfer Edgeless is excellent but the 350 gsm Edgeless Polishing towel from Microfiber Tech (and a number of other places) is almost as good(QC is worse. however) and less money. I have not used the Microfiber Madness Yellow Fellow 2.0 but I would not be surprised if this the best cost-no-object. I like towels of this type as a first pass with some waxes too.
QDs, buffing off sealants and waxes:: The Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile is probably my first choice but the 350 gsm to 470 gsm Korean edgeless plush towels (multiple sources/names) are also really good.
Rinseless and Waterless washes are a desperation move for me so I`m probably not the guy to ask. I tend to dislike extremely thick/heavy towels over 500gsm but if there is an application for them this might be it

A mixture of Uber from detailer`s domain and Adam`s. Apparently Microfiber Tech and the rag shack supply most of the companies (including those mentioned). It also seems that it`s cheaper to get it from the resellers rather than those companies.

I can`t watch Matt`s videos. They`re way to long, and rambling.

For mf towels, buy a few staples (dry, polish, wax), see what you like/ don`t like and build you stock up slowly.

Poorboys dmts are excellent. Love the silk border. Used them for most non ultra dirty jobs. I have a stack of über mf towels from detailer domain that are excellent. Use for general use and euro, shag for any waterless washing, QD or fine work. The detailers domain drying towel is awesome as is the GTech drying towel.

I have had these for a long time and they wash excellently.

Yeah, it`s funny, back when there was a time limit on YouTube people got to the point a lot faster, and did a lot better job of editing themselves.

I did see a first--a detailer using Lista or knockoff Lista cabinets for towels--even dirty ones! There was another video that might have had that story, but I didn`t have an hour and 47 minutes to spare to watch that one--do they really let you put an almost 2 hour video on YouTube now???

The wholesalers must have gotten complaints from their distributors that they were undercutting them and jacked up their pricing (or they just decided that they should make more money for retail sales), but this was noted on another forum how those wholesalers have gotten so much more expensive in the last year or two.

Tex, I`m certain it would include the "Dry Me a River" waffle weave towels. I believe they`re bordering on exceptional. Haven`t tried them all, but these Rag Co. towels are something special.

I`ve accumulated such an array of MF that it`s hard to say what`s best. I think much of it will come down to personal preferences, as witnessed by the comments here. It all works pretty well. The only MF I`ve used that I didn`t like were the wash mitts and some of the dusting accessories with the floppy fibres. Most of those I`ve thrown away.

My favorites are; Zaino - borderless blonde, The Rag Company - Eagle Edgeless, The Rag Company - Dry Me A River.

Holy cow he said he bought an Adam`s 26x40 version of Dry Me A River towels for $18 ea, and that was ~$1 more than buying the 20x40 from TRC?? TRC sells the 20x40 for $8.45 and the 26x59 for $17.95, and that`s if you just buy 1. I guess maybe the pricing changed since he made that vid. I still haven`t gotten to try the couple DMAR`s I bought.

I think you`re on to something. Reminds me of Tina Fey wanting to be in control of Twitter licenses:

Tina Fey Feces Are My Purview - Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee by Jerry Seinfeld (http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/tina-fey-feces-are-my-purview)

Skip to 10:30 to see it. But the whole video worth watching - those two are such a good laugh.
