Need help washing waxing keeping paint safe.

Hi everyone. I am new to this.
I purchased a Mothers Package with the soap,three waxes, and the clay bar.
I soaped and waxed (carnuba) it but have not used the clay on it yet.
I did end up with some swirls (not to bad) and some water spots still on it after waxing. Is that going to be a problem that I should get them off ASAP in order for it not to damage my paint? (swirls, water spots)
I have an 06 GT mustang , black.
I know its gonna be hard to keep it clean.
Also is there a guidpage here that I can look at in order to learn all I need to know?

The best way to learn here is reading all you can. Swirls themselves won`t damage your paint, it`s what happened to the paint that caused the swirls that you need to be cautious about. How bad are the water spots? Can you feel them in the paint? Without pictures I won`t be able to help much.
