I just wanted input on whether to do the washer mod on my Rupes 15 and Mini 75e. Does it really make that much improvement if you do?

I read you can use a backing plate spacer used on a PC.

I have them on all my rupes except the mini for obvious reasons. It definitely helps when doing heavy cutting at higher speeds.

IIRC, I don`t think you can do the washer mod on the mini. The backing plate isn`t "free" on the Duetto and mini like the Rupes 15 and 21.

Has anyone inspected their backing plate after the KB washer mod.
It looks like my arbor rotated 90 degrees. I`ve only had the 21 for a week or so and did a hood at speed 6.
Has anyone else damaged their plate with the mod?

My 15 was fine. But I never ran that full speed with the mod.

NO! Go Kamakaze plate if you think the washer works well!
