I tried an energizer headlamp and it was ok. I prefer polishing and checking with my brinkman.

If you buy, better stock up on extra bulbs now. Brinkman has a poor history of keeping replacement bulbs in stock

Forget that toy stuff, you need industrial grade power an lasting performance. None of which you will get from any powered by aa. You need a light that runs cr123 or an 18650 which is what I use. I like this guy, perfect for any job.

I bought the Xtreme Bright Pro Series X55. I use it while I am doing correction work and it also makes a great light for interior work. It doesn`t take the place of my dual xenon Brinkman, but it is a great "hands free" light. You can get it on Amazon for about $36

Bunky has mentioned his a couple times. I looked it up and it looks pretty sweet.

Thanks guys. For the record this is not going to be my main source of light. I already have another light. I`m also looking for something that I can use when I`m working under any of my cars.
