We just received the NEW Optimum Ferrex!

Optimum FerreX is a strong, yet safe and effective way to dissolve ferrous oxides from wheels and painted surfaces. Optimum FerreX attacks brake dust to rapidly clean wheels with very little agitation required. Unlike many iron removers on the market, FerreX is also a low odour formula.

Optimum FerreX is particularly effective and quickly removes caked on brake dust from European vehicles which are well known for their high dusting brake pads. To use FerreX you simply spray on, wait 1-2 minutes while the FerreX begins to dissolve the iron particles turning it purple, agitate as required and then rinse.

Optimum FerreX is also used to remove iron contamination and road tar from painted body panels such as rail dust, industrial fallout or contamination from road works. Use on a cool surface in the shade and watch as FerreX reacts with the particles and then rinse thoroughly.

If you want I will volunteer to compare it to iron x and the Sonax fall out remover. I just need the Sonax and optimum. It will be done as soon as my hose bib defrosts.

I feel like the market is getting saturated with color changing iron removing products. What makes this one any better?

This product is more like Trix because it combines both an iron-removing product and a tar-removing one. It also mentions it`s low-odor, which I believe it was reported the new Sonax fallout remover is also.

I would also like to know how OPT sees this as differentiated from the competing products, I have tried in vain to get that answer on their forum.

Had a chance to play with Ferrex this weekend. Great stuff. I think it has a banana scent.

Does it really have a Banana scent? LOL! Others claim cherry and lemon, not even close. Well, maybe a tiny bit but hey as long as it works.

Overspray. The tires are just wet. The wheels and tires were in horrible shape. The tires were rust colored and I cleaned each tire 4 times with Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner and a scrub brush on a G110v2 and it barely made a dent. I told the client I could try again next time but I`d like to take the wheels off to agitate them thoroughly.

If you smell it right out of the bottle, it smells bad. But while using it, I swear it smells like bananas. It reminds me of the old DP Auto Bath Shampoo if you`ve ever smelled that.

To give you more background on the scent, I opened it several times to smell it out of the bottle in my kitchen with no problems. I would close the container and the odor was gone. While I was cleaning the Xterra, I went inside to refill a bottle using my 5L container of CarPro Trix. I made the mistake of filling the bottle in my kitchen and I had to air out my apartment just to get rid of the smell. So overall, Ferrex has MUCH less odor.
