For the true enthusiast. The owner had already been a customer of TopSpeed Motorsports on an different GTR, so when he traded it in for the "new" model. He upped the ante and had TSM build a whole new motor for him and do all the other upgrades. The level of detail of the build was astonishing and the owner wanted the outside to match the inside. As far as the paint goes he car had been previously repaired due to a garage accident when he met a trash can. The repair was great looking, but it was too good, it didn`t match the rest of the car. The factory paint on the GTR`s is a "self healing" clear which meant orange peel city. We normally don`t shy away from much around here and leveling factory orange peel is always a delicate task most body shops wont even touch. The owner was referred to us and he knew we would take care of business! So, we went to town and it took us about 7 days to get the car looking like we wanted it to. We took our time inspecting each panel as we went to ensure we were only removing what was necessary to get the look we were after (matching the OEM paint to the retouched panel AKA removing all orange peel)

Process:
Thorough wash / clay to inspect all areas needing extra attention.
2 Bucket Wash : Duragloss 901 in wash bucket
1 Foam Lane attached to shop pressure washer : Chemical Guys Honeydew
Clay : Meguiars & CG Light / Medium (this car has seen some track time)

We went through all areas before we got to sanding to get our baseline
We used Meguiars Unigrit Disck for all major areas - [ I dont know how any detailer lives without these or the trizact discs ]

To start we did a thorough wash and clay regimen to get a good idea on what we were dealing with.

Going super slow around the car

Now on to correcting THOSE marks. We did a full round of V32-38 on MF/Foam pads using the Flex 3401 VRG and the Rupes 21 polishers
For the less prone areas we used CarPros Denim and Velvet pads to aid in the leveling of more delicate areas.
