Removing Oil Stains

I washed my car today and noticed some yellow stains on the passenger side rocker panel. I think the spots are from the rust proofing oil used by Krown as I had the undercarriage of the car sprayed recently. Does anyone have any ideas/experience on how to remove oil stains from car paint? I tried using an all purpose cleaner but it didn`t seem to do anything. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried to clay or to polish them out? `Oil-Flo might do the trick depending on what it is.

I`d try a solvent first (I`d use ValuGard`s New Car Prep, but you could try tar remover or mineral spirits).` You might have to let the solvent dwell for a while.

I`m going to make accumulator cringe... WD-40 and if not Gasoline. As always, test a small spot first but neither should damage modern paint.

Dan- Heh heh...yeah, while I`m not a WD-40 hater by any means, I never use it on my vehicles.` As for using Gasoline, eh, I only use that for fuel (ditto for lighter fluid/naptha which others use for all sorts of stuff).

I`d reach for the valugard solvent first too but the others are easy to find for most. I`ve seen people pouring gas all over their paint at the gas pump time and time again. Never seen paint peeling under a gas door.

I had gasoline wreck post-production paintwork on my `85 Jag, caused a problem I lived with for maybe 20 years.` It had been touched up`under the fuel filler before (new car) delivery and when I spilled gas during a fill-up it caused damage even though I got it home and washed it within minutes.` I know that today`s paints are utterly different, but you know..."once bitten...".
