David have you ever considered the DrivePur system? It is much more expensive but has never failed me a single time. Much more reliable than Ozone.

Can you explain more reliable? As in ozone wont get all smells out? I am pretty familiar with drivepur but not so much with ozone capabilities.

I also hear and am curious about claims that ozone can damage some interiors?

Actually I have not. I have heard alot of great reviews on it though. I basically need an Ozone machine for isolated circumstances really. I used to rent one from my detailing products supplier every time I needed one. Always seemed to work really well.`

IMO most ozone generators don`t produce enough ozone. Be sure to buy something sufficiently potent (sorta like with steamers).

I have an Air-Zone XT-800. Haven`t used it inxa vehicle yet though...I`ll turn it down to maybe half-strength if I ever do to avoid trashing/oxidizing anything made out of rubber. This thing is pretty potent, kills black mold *DEAD*, and I do mean 100% dead.

I bought an ozone machine several weeks ago. Used it one time on a customers car, and once on a friends. Looks like something that should be in a house(Cherry wood box, 2 slide in cartridges in the back). But it got every stench and heavy smoke smell out. Only thing was, the ozone setting I had it on was no higher than 1.5. I kept it in the car for 2 hours running. Aired it out for another hour. My friend said the other day that the smell hasn`t come back.

I own that machine. Got it off Amazon.

It had all the requirements people were saying the ozone machines should have IIRC, and I`ve used it twice with good results. One in a car that had a bottle of wine spilled and it smelled fermented in there. I used it months ago and the owner says it has not come back. It already paid for itself.

yes that`s the one i am looking at! sounds great, i don`t plan on using it a lot, but i am constantly looking for more tools/products to tackle those jobs where i`ll need to "break the glass" (like Ray`s wheel detail and the carpro gel).

I`m going to bite the bullet because the price at the moment seems like a steal compared to the regular sale price and other generators of the same caliber.

Thanks!! I`ll be PM`ing you asking for details on how to work with this in case i`m having difficulties with it.

Sure thing. One thing to note is that it does not have an on/off switch, just a timer, and it only goes up to 2 hours. So you set the timer before plugging it in, seal everything up and then plug it in. Any time you have to up the time on it you`d have to hold your breath and move it pretty quickly. It is nice though that it doesn`t just keep going if you set it up, and it gives the air a chance to dissipate.

I also used it in my apartment to remove whatever the last tenant was cooking up in there :)

Awesome, one of my Monthly clients used to smoke in her truck and i recall her mentioning the smoke odor, so i`m going to try it out on her truck (along with steaming for additional sanitation) and see how it does. Best part is that she`s my neighbor and family friend, so i can experiment with her truck if it doesn`t work the first time and seeing the vehicle monthly will allow me to follow up on longer term results.

The price point and the reviews look great on that unit. I think I will purchase one myself. Are there any dangers of damaging any interior surfaces by using the machine ?
