Last week I got a phone call from a friend asking me if I could get water spots off of a Jet Ski. The conversation went something like this.

`Me: `On your red one?

Him: `No I bought a black one at the beginning of summer and it’s bad

Me: `black???

Him: `Yeah it was a left over and I got a good deal on it, I still have the red one. My son has been riding it lot this summer and it looks really bad now. He tried to wax it once earlier in the summer but it really needs cleaned up, it looks ugly.

Me: `Well I can give it a try. Send me a text with some pics of it.

Me: `You’re right it is bad!

Him: `Told you, I bought some Meguiars marine compound and tried it by hand and it won’t touch them.

Me: Ok bring it by Saturday morning and we’ll see what I can do.

These are matte black decals with wax on them. The Mothers trim cleaner cleaned off the wax and restored the matte finish.

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/rzatch/Seadoo/100_6149.jpg (http://s219.photobucket.com/user/rzatch/media/Seadoo/100_6149.jpg.html)

Now that all of the trim had been cleaned up it was time to start on the rest of it and see if any of the water spots would wash off. So I started with a strong mix of DG901 and APC in a foam gun and let it dwell.

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/rzatch/Seadoo/100_6153.jpg (http://s219.photobucket.com/user/rzatch/media/Seadoo/100_6153.jpg.html)

Dirt gone, water spots prevail. `Once dried 95% of the water spots were still there. Plan B. I used White Vinegar in a spray bottle and soaked it top to bottom and let it dwell for about 5 minutes. All the water spots wiped right off but then the real horror revealed itself. A jet black swirled up scratched up Jet Ski.

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/rzatch/Seadoo/100_6155.jpg (http://s219.photobucket.com/user/rzatch/media/Seadoo/100_6155.jpg.html)

This thing reminded me of a Stealth fighter plane with all of the sharp edges. Might as well get taping this is going to take awhile.

Nice job, but detailing that is a horror story. Give me a car anyday.

Thank you. Yes a car is much easier. I had to stand on my head to polish parts of it.
