Things come and go, just wanted to know what people prefer and why? I used to love Grout Sponges and still keep a few fresh ones in my arsenal for certain occasions. I find myself liking just a plain ole plush microfiber towel most times. Not the best at shedding dirt, but they certainly get into tight cracks/crevices extremely well.`

Microfiber covered foam pads.`
Eurofoam, the foam Zymol uses. Sheepskin, Grout sponges are great as well.

A good sheepskin for me. Have been using them for the last 20 years or so, and grout sponges before that. Anything but chenille!

CarPro Merino wool mitt for weekly maintenance wash or when car is only slightly dirty. `Meguiars microfiber mitt when car is truly dirty. `If doing rinseless wash, I use the Gary Dean method and instead of a mitt I use about eight Meguiar`s Supreme Shine Microfiber towels.

Fluffy MF towel works best for me. No marring.

BHBs for the initial pass(es), sheepskin or MF mitts for the subsequent ones.
`
Smaller BHBs followed by MFs and foam or cotton swabs for the jambs/etc.
`
Either BHBs or (flagged bristle) synthetic-bristle brushes for wheelwells and undercarriages, the choice based on whether it`s a "good" vehicle or a beater.
`
BHBs followed by swabs and`sheepskin mitts or sponges (choice again based on...) and now Wheel Woolies for the wheels.
`
Plastic-bristle brushes or sponges for the tires (choice based on softness of sidewalls).

Aren`t sheepskin and lambs wool the same? I use sheepskin but often refere to it as lambs wool.

Probably more of a preference thing, but I find that when working quickly, they hold far much more water than I prefer. It makes the mitt so much heavier, harder to work with, notwithstanding, draining my wash bucket quicker when I am away from a water source i.e car wash during the winter months....

On a car that`s being degreased for polishing or new wax, I`ll use sheepskin/lambswool. But for maintenance washes on properly prepped cars, a good sponge is my tool of choice...so I voted sponge.

I`m hard-pressed to actually vote because while my wash regimen is *very* BHB-centric, I`d hate to get by with *only* BHBs because IME (when used properly)`they`re too gentle to remove tenacious "road grime"-type contamination so the mitt/etc. followup is pretty much mandatory.
