1998 Porsche Carrera. I was able to work this one in quicker than usual due to the dreadful forecast for this weekend. The car had been repainted white (it was blue), mostly OEM level quality but some areas had moderate orange peel and a few had defects that were under the clear. The goal was to get the car to 90% correction and protect it with Optimum Opti-Coat.

I brought my bike helmet light with me, its a 500 lumen LED light, turned out to be a little too bright for my camera. The swirls were definitely worse than these pictures show.

Full process:

ONR, Opti-Clay

Meguiars M100 using a Meguiars MF cutting pad on flat areas, Optimum MF cutting pad on curved areas (thicker foam follows contours better) using my Rupes 21 DA polisher

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum orange foam cutting pad and my Rupes

ONR wash

Opti-Coat applied to paint and wheels

Opti-Glass applied to windshield

Armor All on tires/wheel wells

Had to take the pictures inside. About halfway through the compounding step, there was an absolute deluge of rain. Luckily being a small car and there not being any wind to speak of, it was in far enough to stay dry. When I had finished, the eaves were still dripping a bit and more rain was obviously on the way. In fact, by the time I got to the main street after leaving his house, the rain was falling so hard the previous downpour looked like a spring shower in comparison.

I didn`t do anything to the engine but I can`t mention it`s supercharged without showing at least one pic of the engine!

Nice work Scott! Had to make white pop, but you guys did! I got caught to, 2 Caterham`s prep for COTA, just about Opti-Coat time and the sky`s opened up! Inside and start over!

Driving north on 360 from SW Grand Prairie to north Arlington was a beat down with the rain. Can`t remember the last time I`ve seen it rain that hard here.

Hope you stay dry!

Nice job Scott. Are those chrome or polished aluminum wheels?

Thanks! The wheels are polished and coated. And the coating on the wheels is so-so. But the painted areas are in excellent shape.

Shame the engine bay looks so neglected, the outside is stunning!!

Actually, the engine bay is a work in progress. More work to do to extract more power from the engine.
