You know that stuff dealers use in the spray can to detail engine compartments , tires shine and black trim shine.

Anyone know what that is or where I can some ? whats a good one and whats not ?

I know the stuff is made to spruce up the car for resale but the stuff they used on my Vette when I bought it lasted a long time and looked quite nice. Was not real greasy either. Usually the stuff is a mess and oily.

Thank you

CD2 engine detailer, hard to find but works great.

Yup, best stuff there is, but hard to find. One application lasts for over a year, the engine compartment looks as clean as the day you cleaned it and it is a good rust inhibitor too !

The detailers at the dealers are always phoning me if I can sell them some. I tell them the last box that I have is for my consumption ! ...LoL

You can find it in the US, but in Canada forget about it. Canadian Tires has the legal rights to import it from Turtle Wax, but CD2 labeling is in English only does not have French so they can`t sell it.

Some of my buddies are using Turtle Wax Ultra Wet Tire Shine for their details at the dealers, works pretty good, but not as good as CD2

I am using a product called Unica Tire Shine which I can get locally, very inexpensive $25/gal and last even after several rain storms.

Spray way instant shine is a good choice...

I buy some locally that smells like watermelon, is dirt cheap by the case, and performs really well...PM if you would like the details...

Hard to find? More like impossible; I`ve been looking hard for the last year or so and can`t find it anywhere. I`m down to one last can that is safely tucked away and being saved for special jobs only at my discretion.

Is CD2 still being produced??

A few people are saying the GUNK product is as good, if not better:

I`ve tried that gunk stuff... it`s not terrible, but nowhere near as good as CD2 was.

cd2 is no longer being produced. I have like 1/4 of a can that im saving. Stuff is amazing, but I think they stopped making it because the chemicals are too environmentally harmful.
