2013 Lexus GS350. The owner contacted me about their new car, and said she wanted it properly cleaned up and protected. We talked about the options and between that and some research online, she decided that Optimum Coating would be the best option since this is their daily driver.

This is the second 2013 GS350 I have done and I must say this current version is very impressive both inside and out. Lexus really did a great job with this car!

The car was in the amazing condition she promised, and noticing a gallon jug of ONR in their garage, I realized why. Other than a couple small areas with minor marring the paint was as good as anything I`ve seen in "before" condition.

ONR wash, Opti-Raser pink (mild) to clay

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum MF cutting pad and my Meguiars G110 v2 DA Polisher

ONR wash

Optimum Coating applied to the paint, head/tail lights and wheels

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

ONR wash and wax diluted 32:1 to clean glass

2008 Lexus LS460 and 2009 Toyota Camry. I`ve been taking care of this customer`s cars since the early 2000s. Even though the husband passed over the summer, his wife has continued to have the cars maintained-her main interest is having them cleaned and protected about every three months. The Camry is the around town car, the LS460 is the road trip car. Other than the dealer occasionally washing the Lexus when it is serviced, I`m the only one who has touched these cars since they were purchased (Lexus lightly used, Camry was new) so they`ve stayed in terrific shape. Since the Camry is a solid white, it doesn`t have a clear coat, I do use Optimum G-P-S every other time we seal it just to keep the paint from oxidizing. Since I had used that the last time, these were just simple wash and protect jobs.

ONR wash (no need to clay this time)

Optimum Opti-Seal

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

ONR wash and wax at 32:1 to clean glass

Nice work guys. Love the new Lexus front ends. Mean stance. All white this time, I thought all you guys did was black these days...lol! Seriously nice work Scott.

Scott, are you often able to one step with the Optimum Microfiber Cutting Pad? I know Optimum`s MF Cutting Pad is more gentle than Meg`s but still, not too many cutting pads I have used that can leave behind a nice enough finish to one step. Of course, since it is white paint, that may have made the difference.

Bert, OPT MF pads are pretty powerful with the right combination of compound you can achieve a 2 step correction in 1 step. I quickly found out that I needed to adjust my pricing, as I was short changing myself.

You`d be amazed at the cut and finish. Optimum uses the same facing on both the polishing and cutting pads but the foam backing on the cutting pad is more dense, giving it 20-25% more cut. With Hyper Polish you can still get a really good finish with their cutting pads. Obviously, on something like a jet black BMW with a really soft clear, you`d need to use a less aggressive pad.

In the case of a black BMW would you use Optimums MF finishing pad most likely?

Great work Scott, the GS owner is a member at ClubLexus, he posted in a thread about ONR and mentioned you by name and what a great job you did.

To add about the GS, I am crazy in love with this car. I`ve had a bunch of Lexuses, but this car is unlike anything Lexus has ever made before. Has all the attributes I like about a Lexus, smooth, comfortable quiet, well made, yet its aggressive and fun to drive at the same time. Great purchase...

I`d probably finish with a foam pad. Optimum doesn`t have an MF finishing pad but Meguiars does. However, on really soft paint foam leaves a better finish.

Great, glad to hear the owner was happy. :)
