I made a video of the exhaust on this beast car here: Dodge Viper Modded Exhaust - YouTube (http://youtu.be/XXQe-9TLEm4)

This is a 2001 Dodge Viper with 589 HP AT THE WHEELS!!!

Much like Camaros, the clear coat on this paint was rock hard. I was able to one step it with M105 for about 85-90% correction.

This detail is going to go on for a few weekends at least, so here`s just a teaser. I was only able to remove all the stupid stickers and correct the hood and roof.

Products used:

Heat Gun

Speedy Prep Towel

Ultima Waterless Wash Plus Concentrate

Griots Garage 6" DA

Meguiars M105

Optimum Microfiber Cutting Pad

Brilliant Glaze

Americana Paste Wax

After claying, the paint is a swirled mess!

Sun went down, so no true after sun shots unfortunately :/

Nice work! Good friend of mine has Bobby Archer coach his son in racing, real nice guy. You think that exhaust is cool go to a Viper meet at a track near you, 35 out there at once! That`s exhaust!

Thanks! Ha! 35 Vipers would be deafeningly loud!!

Thanks! And yeah I was really surprised, it took M105 and a cutting microfiber pad on a griots to even put a dent in the paint!

Looks really good!

As an added note, that paint system is PPG.

Pretty much Chrysler`s standard paint system for the last 10 years or so for US builds.

Thank you for the added info! Do you know if GM uses PPG as well?

US and Canadian builds? Not sure the past two years, however from 2000 on probably 90% are PPG. At one time DuPont had a large part of their business, however as time as passed PPG has gained the biggest part.

Of course the clear was "hard", it`s had going on what, 12 years, to compact.

I believe most of the gen 2 vipers were painted by saleen.

prefix will be painting all the new vipers:

The 2 I saw at the NAAS last month still had some pigtails and holograms i could see on white and yellow. The gen 2 black 08 ACR I did has a lot of pigtails.
