I`m looking to get some poorboys chemicals basically waxes, polish, compound. I`m looking for something that I can do a 3 stage with

Buff
Polish
Wax

What would you guys suggest I try out. I want it basically for darker color cars and also what type of pad would you suggest. I use the schlegal with my makita for buffing. I just been reading on the forum and it seems like depending on the pads you use (foam) determines the outcome.

If so give me some ideas on all of the above. Thanks

With a dark color I would get some

SSR2.5 or 2.0 and use that with a cutting pad to start

P-w-C using a polishing pad to clean up after removing the swirls

Nattys pastes wax by hand to finish.

I just did this on my black BMW but I used the SSR1 because mine was not that bad with swirls

Defect removal is always a case by case situation...but since you are using a rotary, I would recommend starting with a polishing pad with the aforementioned compounds. If you were using a PC then the cutting pad might be a place to start, yet even then, and based on the degree of defect, I would first try to resolve via a polishing pad first.
