Natural Sea Sponge

I have been using the Natural Sea Sponge for some time now, but my question is: How do you know when it is time to buy a new one? Mine is still in good shape, is not dirty at all, and still seems to clean well without marring. I just didn`t know if they eventually wear out or do they last and last?

Back when I used them, I didn`t replace them until they literally fell apart, which took years and years.
