Hi,

I just finished detailing an old 1991 grey Mercedes. Too bad I didn`t have the before pics, but this was the worst car. I think the guy drove it straight from the junk yard. There was oxidation and tiny little rust spots everywhere. Scratches and dents was all over the place, some very deep..not to mention also had big rusts.

The wheels were never cleaned...it was just filled with baked on .5" of brake dust in each hole.

The only reason for detailing was for selling.

Armed with my new HD product line, I decided to see what this can do.

First washed with dawn soap.

Second I clay`ed the car with magic clay (blue)..this did a good job on the car (as with all the other cars I did) but it did struggled on removing what looked like baked dust on both back doors (not sure how it got there). It did remove some, but a more aggressive clay would of been nice. (Again, the clay worked great and removed about 70% of the rust tiny spots on the back doors.

Third, I used HD UNO with black wool on setting 5 of my PC, and applying heavy pressure.

Forth, I used HD Uno with Orange pad from lake county on 4 setting

Fifth, I used HD Polish with my finishing pad (white in my case)

Sixth, I used RMG with the PC at the lowest setting with blue pad.

and last, I put some Gold Glass wax.

For the wheels, I only had `simple green` and it just loosened some of that brake dust. I had to scrub with an iron brush and kept applying simple green. If anyone has a good recommendation for a excellent wheel cleaner, I`m all ears!

Well, after 5 hours, the results were pretty amazing. HD UNO did not dust at all (compared to my 106FF menzerna) and neither did the HD Polish....easy on, and very easy off. What HD did to this car is spectacular. I wish I had some before pics.

Mind you, the car is not 100% scratch free..most scratches there you can roll a dime on it, but it did cover quite a few to give the car nice shine.

I used to use 106ff and IP, but the dusting was awful, I`m sold on HD UNO and Polish. I also have poxy, but I wanted to finish my RMG bottle.

Let me upload some pics...

Looks pretty darn good compared to the condition you described that it showed up in. They didn`t change their mind about selling it did they ?
