This car was a new acquisition from a client of mine who had chased this particular car for a few years and through a couple of different owners before he was finally able to call it his. The previous owner had used it for a daily driver, so it had some issues. My client was taking it to a Porsche gathering at the end of this month, so he wanted it freshened up. Another note, this car had been repainted in base/clear, it was not the original paint.

Process:

Wash: Foam with Meguiar`s Shampoo Plus mixed with Optimum Power Clean, then 2-bucket wash with Shampoo Plus

Wheels, tires and wheel wells cleaned with Optimum Power Clean 3:1

Clay: Clay Magic Blue

Compounded with M105/D300 on Meguiar`s MF pads/Griot`s Garage DA

Polished with HD Polish on Green Buff and Shine pads/Tangerine Hydro-Tech pads

Sealed with HD Poxy

Tires dressed with AutoFinesse Gloss

There was a lot of issues to clean up before I started the detail. White residue on trim, dried compound around all the seams and more on the taillights.

The condition of the paint wasn`t too bad, but it definitely needed some improvement.

Thank you Charlie, it`s a cool little car...even if it is a 4-banger Porsche!

That came out sweet!

Thanks DaGonz!

That looks really good, you did a great job. I recently did a late 70`s 911 that was black and beat up fairly good. They are kinda fun little cars to work on and by the end of the detail I liked the car itself more than when I started. I`ll try to get that write up posted soon. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I totally agree with you too, at first it was just another detail but when it was all said and done, I walked away very impressed with this car.

I bet the owner was stoked!? It looks pretty darn good.

How was the interior? As spotless as exterior?

What was used on the bumper trim and other molding pieces, that looks great! I am sure he will enjoy taking this to the meet it looks like it just rolled out of the showroom!

The interior wasn`t really bad, just needed a light vacuum and wipedown. The carpet was kind of tough to vacuum though, it`s like having straw mats inside the car.

Awesome color! Great work on the shine

Thanks man!

Thank you Thomas, I really like that picture too.

Thank you. The rubber trim was cleaned with Hi-Temp Prep Wash diluted 1:1 and a toothbrush. It`s not dressed in the pictures.
