can you use a light polish to remove it? or is it a bigger task. just washed with tarminator, took most of it off but i can still see where all the bugs were in the soft rock guard.

To remove minor scratches in the film; tape the edges of the paint protection film when using a machine polisher. Use Menzerna Polish (PO 106 FF- SF4000 or PO 85 U- FF3000) and Lake Country (LC) Mfg Black Finishing foam pad (70 PPI) at speed # 3-4, do not use any downward machine pressure and maintain a fast linear motion. It is important not to apply a lot of pressure to the film as this may lead to burning or smudging of the surface. Use a Q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol to clean out the edge. Depending on the severity of the indentation will depend on how well it can be removed or lightened up.
Note the emphasis `minor scratches`
