Not quite like the McCartney/Wonder song with the extra ebony is it?



1988 BMW 535. This is the third time I`ve detailed the exterior of this car, the owner is good about having me come back out before it gets oxidized again. Since it is the original single stage paint and has been polished deeply twice, now the goal is to maintain the finish while removing a minimum of paint to keep the oxidation at bay.



ONR wash, Opti-Raser clay sponge

3M Ultrafina using a yellow Meguiars foam polishing pad and my PC 7424 XP

3D HD Poxy to seal

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

3D Trim Protectant on the bumpers

2011 Nissan Maxima. We did the original polish and wax when it was new several months ago. The owner is now at a location that while make it a lot easier for us to have access to it for more regular detailing. Paint still looked to be 95% swirl free so no need to get aggressive

2012 Mercedes C250. Brand new car, owner has had it about a week. There were a couple areas with rotary holograms, leading me to believe that was done on the assembly line after painting and not the dealer. Usually if the swirls are from the dealer, they cover the entire car. Also had some light spider swirling in the rock hard ceramiclear paint so no choice but to get at least moderately aggressive to remove them. The owner was very interested in seeing how ONR works, says he will probably make the switch after seeing how easy it is to wash with.

Hey Scott, have you ever compared various other tire dressings to Armor All? I`m know you`re the type to test out products and I`m always surprised you go to Armor All. Clearly it looks good, but I always wonder about the durability.



The only two products I have used are Adam`s SVRT and Meg`s Endurance Gel so I`m no expert!



Oh, as usual the works looks fantastic. Especially the Merc!

Used a lot of dressings, always go back to Armor All. Water based, looks good, durable enough for water based, available anywhere and inexpensive. I go through a ton of it.



Don`t know why it gets such a bad rap. Sure, its too shiny for interiors but just right on tires and fenderwells.

Great work Scott! I think I like the `88 the most. I`ve used AA on the interior a whole bunch of times in the past before refining myself and agree that the shine it gave on the inside was way to much for my liking, especially the glare it gave on the windshield! I`ve never tried it on the exterior trim/tires/wells. That being said, as of late I`ve been trying to get a nice clean shine on my wells and nothing but Stoner`s Trim Shine has been somewhat effective. I think I`ll try the AA approach once the TS is all gone.
