2006 Infiniti M45, regular customer, usually has me out twice a year to take care of this car. He decided to go with Opti-Coat this time, wanted some additional protection. The paint was in decent shape, could have used two polishing steps to make it perfect but he`s leaving on his honeymoon in a week so he was on a tighter budget this time. And on a daily driver, protection is more important than perfection to most people.

ONR wash, Optimum Opti-Raser clay sponge

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad, PC 7424 XP on speed 6

ONR wash

Opti-Coat on paint, side and rear glass, wheels and door jambs

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

-------------------

2008 Roush 427 Mustang. Current owner just bought it from his brother, who in 4 years had only put 1900 miles on it. However, it was swirled up, noticed a car cover and California duster in the trunk, but on the plus side, the towels were microfiber.

The owner was referred to me by a regular customer whose cars I take care of the first weekend of each month. Since they live near each other, the Roush owner asked that I give him a heads up when I will be taking care of his friends car. Since the Mustang is a weekend toy, hopefully that means from now on I am the only one who washes it and it will stay swirl free.

Half `n half shot:

Compounded and polished:

ONR wash to remove compounding/polishing dust

Mitchell and King Rannoch Paste Wax

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

The wax got a little warm sitting in the car, so we slightly over applied it and once back in the sun, some areas rehazed, went back over those areas with ONR at QD strength and a microfiber towel. Probably going to have to keep it in our cooler during warmer weather.

Great work Scott! Have you or do you ever try 105/205 together at 50/50? Possibly for a one step?

That`s one combo I haven`t tried. Maybe Meguiars should make it, they can call it #155.

nice work scott!!

I have tried the 105/205 combo on single stage cars and it works way better than just plain 105 due to the oils in 205. after a few ISO wipedowns, the paint is worked out better that way. IMHO ;D

How did I miss this one? That has to be one of the nicest Mustangs I`ve seen...well the newer generations at least. Awesome job as always!

I haven`t been able to get either to work that well on single stage for me, at least not nearly as well as Optimum Hyper Polish works on single stage paint. Real surprise too, OHP also outperforms Meguiars 80 series polishes on single stage as well. Go figure.

I got the Rannoch wax from JJ_ who posts here on autopia from time to time. Really nice looking wax, great depth and wetness.

Agreed. So much attention is paid to how durable it is and not enough to how terrific it looks. :)

I really like the Roush Mustangs too. We also detailed a blue on when we were in Phoenix back in February.
