Was at Pepboys today and saw that the Clay Magic boxes now displayed the Simoniz logo. Looks like Simoniz now owns Clay Magic. Thought I`d share.

Interesting. Most likely there will be more changes when the patent expires.

I believe the patent is set to expire this year... They only last 20 years and I believe the original Clay Bar was released in 92-93.

a few months back i was at k-mart and noticed they carry the clay magic kit and yes i noticed the simoniz logo as well...

Very interesting! Yet the Clay Magic site still lists them as owned by ITW/Auto Wax... wonder who bought who?

The buying of AutoWax by Illinois Tool had some options in the purchase.
The "clay" part of AutoWax was spun off a few years before Dennis sold the company, but retained some "licensing" options.
Now that the patent is close to expiring, they have licensed it to many companies.
It`s the same product, just a different label.
Don`t get the panties in a bunch, it`s just major, mass marketing of an accepted product.
