So my Flex has seen A LOT of duty in the past two years, and it shows. There was caked on polish in every imaginable nook and cranny, and it was a sorry sight indeed. What started as a "detail my detailer" project turned into a serious cleaning. Anyway, just a fun way to spend two hours this afternoon that only my fellow autopian`s could truly appreciate.:eyebrows:

Here`s what she looks like before I got started

I cleaned a bunch of pads with DP pad cleaner granules, so I already had a bucket of soapy water and my nylon pad brush handy. I set about to scrubbing the exterior to remove the caked on polish. LOTS of elbow grease was necessary here, that stuff was really stuck to the surface!!!

When I removed the backing plate, I was shocked to see it full of rust and dust. This was DEFINITELY needed as a lot of the previously lubricated areas were now void of grease.

What did you use for your LSP? Opti-coat, or BF?

:) Just the 303. I`m headed out to the shop shortly to start a correction on a 599 GTB Fioriano, so it`s going to get dirtied up soon. Doh!

Looks like new. It`s also a good idea use compressed air to blow out the air vents after each use to help prevent an accumulation of dust and debris internally as well.
