so, I`m looking for something to protect the lower trim when I take the V to autocross events. Painters tape isn`t so hot, but I did see these two products mentioned, anyone here use them and could you comment on their effectiveness?

Their second use of course would be what they were intended for-- long distance trips. Both are available in clear, both state they can be removed with a hand wash. Both look like you need to IPA the sections down to remove any LSP.

PRO Car Beauty Products: S-10-22 BUG GUARD (http://www.prowax.com/specialty_products/S-10-22_Bug_Guard.html)

I`m leaning toward dupicolor because of the name and because I`ll probably be able to find it in-store.

P.S.

The Pro product is more like a gel that you spread on with a foam pad. I have no experience with the the Duplicolor Shield but given that it is in a spray can, I`d assume it`s more like a paint. I`d go with that one because like you said, you can get it locally. I`ll probably add it to my stash once my Pro stuff is gone. It does beat the hassle of having to order it.

good to hear, I was just worried aside from application there might be an advantage to one or the other in their effectiveness. Doesn`t sound like it.

Thanks!

Haven`t used the SHIELD for track applications, but I have used it on the highway and it is pretty effective. Never used the PRO stuff.
