Received a call from 503 Motoring to do another one of those winter special details.

I really didn`t know that the F came in black so I thought I`d have lots of time to pamper the paint this time. :D

The interior was not too bad so no pictures of the process. I only took the few pictures because this is a pretty cool car imho.

I was really pressed for time, because while the customer was explained that one can only do so much in one day, what was I going to do? Remove 50% of the imperfections? :wall

So I did all I could but still not 100%. Far from it, as some RIDS were too deep and required more passes than what I had time for.

Naturally, the paint was trashed, but what else is new? The car was purchased very recently from a dealership.. It is an 08 I believe with 60K or so

Process: ( this shouldn`t be a surprise :D:D:D )

3D pink car soap

3D aggressive clay

3D interior apc

3D grand slam (wheels/tires)

3D tire shine

HD PROTECT (interior leather)

HD UNO

HD FINISH

I love IS Fs. Looks like the clay bar left some decent marring on that paint? Which was probably pretty soft then right?

This car was without a doubt the dirtiest paint I have ever cleaned/clayed. I`d clay a section, get another clean clay bar, start claying and the clay would get so dirty again. I couldn`t believe it. While polishing the wool pads/MF/foam, would also get dirty. How can a 3 year old car get so dirty?

I don`t think the paint was soft. Normal flat black. That purple clay will chew up any paint. :D

Could it have been single stage or a tinted clear? Lexus is one of the only OEM still using that paint system on blacks.

No. It was definitely dirt - the pads were brown. Not black.

Very nice work, Thomas.

I`m having a heck of a time getting uno to finish down properly on any color paint. I cant wait to get my hands on some hd finish!

That car is a prime example of where the ABC system could have been used while in the wet bay and reduced you time and marring by a whole bunch.

It can save an hour easily when one faces that sort of paint condition.

Takes about an extra 20 to 30 minutes in the wet bay wash, but you more than reduce at least an hour or more in the polishing, etc time.

Very nice Thomas! The IS-F is a gorgeous car to me, and a dark color really accentuates the rather sharp angles, in a good way. That car looks awesome.

That is a sharp looking vehicle now Thomas, crust removal in one day as those are tough conditions as you have to balance just how much correction you can get panel to panel.
