I did the initial detail on this 2012 Ford Focus Titanium Edition this summer, the owner has done an excellent job keeping the finish swirl free and protected using Optimum No Rinse and Optimum Car Wax and proper washing techniques. He decided he wanted added protection and ordered Opti-Coat 2.0 and decided he felt more comfortable having me prep the car and apply it. After washing the car with ONR and claying it, we inspected the finish and found it to still be swirl free. Filled another bucket with a 50% IPA solution, washed the car, then applied the coating.

While the application is similar to Opti-Seal, car has to be taken to ensure that all areas on each panel properly flash off and clear out prior to moving on to the next panel. Typically, going over an area that seems to be drying too slowly with the applicator pad is enough to properly level it. Sometimes you may have to wait an extra minute or two and then lightly wipe with a microfiber towel. Miss any spots and you`ll need to break out the buffer to remove them once they dry. The paint, trim and wheels were all covered with Opti-Coat.

Now the car has protection that should easily last several years and a finish that will be easy to maintain.

2008 Chevy Corvette. I detailed this car over the summer and the owner wanted the exterior taken care of and protected for winter. The interior was still in terrific condition and just needed a vacuum and wipe-down. I normally don`t top products, but on silver paint, the combination of OS and OCW is absolutely stunning. Since both are so easy to use, why not get the best look possible?

Really didn`t have much option on where to take the pictures, his driveway is pretty short and with my car parked there, just not enough room to pull the car out completely.

Great work, as always. OS/OCW combo interests me as I have a silver vehicle. How long do you wait before topping OS?

Thanks

I wait about 15 minutes. Another option is put Opti-Seal on it, then when you wash it, add an ounce of OCW to the ONR solution. That`s how I have been maintaining my Opti-Coated Accord.
