Porsche GT3 One Step correction

When you have a black car in this condition, it usually requires much more work to restore it to a like new state. By much more work, I mean more compounding, more polishing, and more final polishing. However, when you are trying to sell the car, and you don’t want to put a lot of money into it since you will not be the one driving it around anymore, it makes sense to get it looking better, but not necessarily perfect, especially when perfect would require triple the bill and 2 full days on the car! Overall, this was a pretty big change and is now in a much better condition. Total time was about 8 hours. I was dealing with being outside all day, very strong winds, lack of shade, a filthy car, repainted panels (75% of the car), and black paint! I couldn’t go more aggressive without leaving the paint too hazy, yet I had to get some cut going on in order to remove oxidation, paint defects, and restore gloss. It was 8 hours of straight through labor!

Befores:

Nasty wheels and brake calipers! Sonax takes care of these with ease!

Lets not take off the license plate bracket, just hit it with the polisher. Takes 1 min to remove!

Process from start to finish:

Paint stripping wash to remove old protection

Thorough wheel cleaning

Claybar treatment

Compound and polish hood

Polish entire car

Clean paint

Sealant application to paintwork

Vacuum and interior dusting

Tire dressing application

Windows cleaned (twice as they were pretty filthy inside)

Huge improvement! :up

What I can`t understand is how people allow their cars to get that bad in the first place, then panic right before they sell the car.

good guys

Great turnaround under "Suckness" conditions Eric, people floor me though.....................I wonder if the guy knows just how much MORE the car would have pulled had he let you do a proper job(thousands..) but it was a "step over the dimes to pick up the penny`s" situation and also the thought of "you mean you need a garage to work in? I thought you had a tent or somethin???? if this was spring or later Eric this guy would have been out of luck.

Way to keep your headown and do the work.

Exactly what Bob said! Get the paint perfect or as close to it will bring in excellent condition on the sale, bringing back the money spent!

yeah, I hear you guys on that! I tell all my clients a few things:

its easier to maintain than it is to fix

bringing a car back will add double the cost of a reconditioning detail, so you actually will make money by having me work on the car

keeping the car cleaned keeps you happier, and always driving in a "new" car. Its a good feeling
