revamp my garage and inventory a bit.





I never thought of it becoming like this! as my collection was growing, I had to find spaces for it. My collection was simply everywhere in the house. and Im tired of walking around the house to grab something I need. enough is enough!





So now I have the garage to myself!! My focus now is to make my garage look more presentable...

I don`t know if I should install some lights before or after painting the roof. I probably go with same light I`m running now , but add 2-4 more, or T8s



I looking for some epoxy white paint for very top and sides, some light gray on the bottom 1/4 on the side, light gray epoxy on floor also and a orange line around the garage.



any recommendations?

Have you thought about shelves up high on the wall? This way they wont interfere with the car but will allow you more storage for things you might not need that often.

If you do paint the floor, be sure to add some friction media (sand, etc.) as epoxy paint is *SLIPPERY* when wet (trust me on this, I have some painted floors that do have it while my sub-basement doesn`t, and there`s a huge diff).

Thanks for the ideas guys! keep them coming, I can use some... about the sand idea... do I lay the sand afterwards or just mix it with the epoxy paint and paint the floors like that.

Not bad, see you got the "pad" made in Lenexa, Ks.

We used them in the Technical Training Center at Automotive International for years, great product, no reason to use paint.

You can drag them out and clean them easily.

Not have to worry about solvents, etc, that roll down is bullet proof.

What I did see is a lack of enough electrical power, which may require a new "box and breakers".

As you move on, you may find how important and convienent it is to have multiple outlets with enough amp service.

Not hard to add a 220v to the service, good thing to do.

Just a thought or two.

Definitely getting more organized! Looks good. Have you thought about buying or making very tall/large shelves on that very back wall of the garage? The garage looks pretty deep and the more you can put up there the less you have to have taking up space on the sides, which are narrower. And use the dead space above the garage door as storage. Build a shelf for seldom used items.



Also, if you wash in the garage organize things so that `nothing` is actually on the floor. It makes it easy to squeegie out if you don`t have a drain.



Consider extending your electrical outlets to more locations. Just extend the conduit on top of the wall. These are always handy. Also, I like having pull-down lights and extension cords. They are really helpful. The more, the better.



And where is your TV? :)

you might hit a little snag with check lighting at the sides for light colored vehicles. ime the check lights needed some distance. since you can`t get the light perpendicularly farther, diagonally is how i do it. can`t move walls.

I think they do it both ways..I didn`t watch while they did mine, but one floor looks like they sprinkled it on top and the other looks like it was mixed in.




And where is your TV?



Am I the only guy who doesn`t have/want in-shop entertainment? I had a pretty nice stereo built in, but I haven`t turned it on for years. Don`t want anything distracting me from the work at hand...guess it`s just my learning style.

It`s coming along wonderfully! You`ve got to be pumped! After the lighting is done I can imagine what it`s going to look like at night. Shades always required :)

so far 2 gallons of drylok and 1 gallon of sherwin williams semi gloss latex paint has been used. I`m a little upset that I wasn`t able to cover the ceiling and the walls with 1 gal of the SW semi gloss white, now I need to get another gallon.

that`s another 100% improvement. paint the nosings of the stairs white for added safety when you`re not looking.
