I just bought my wife a used 2005 Eddie Bauer Expedition in Laser Red with the Arizona Beige on bottom. what would be a good suggestion for products to use on it, has mild spider webbing and some small flaws here and there but overall is decent. Here is the vehicle.

I just did my Cayman with 3D Uno polish and 3D Poxy sealant. It was a great one-two punch and super easy to apply and wipe off. Good for several months.

I bet Nitro Seal would look awesome on that color, based on the results Barry Theal and Bob Willis have posted on red cars....

But then again, being a huge SUV I`d be awfully tempted to Opti-Coat it so your maintenance is much easier to deal with long-term.

whats Nitro Seal? what about 3d stuff? are they similar to items like Zaino?

did the rear hatch crack on yours yet? Ours just did last week. Be sure to get in on the class action suit that was just started about it. They all crack in time, ridiculous. It`ll split by the Ford emblem. Ours did right by the Merc logo.

nope, no splitting on mine. BUT trust me i will keep an eye on it.

also all the above mentioned products, can you layer them with good results?

of the above mentioned lsp`s opti coat is the only one that doesn`t layer. nitro seal, poxy can be layered.

does the depth and clarity increase with more coats? or would i be pissing in the wind? i used to use zaino and top it with dodo juice waxes for my pearled 300c show car i used to own, and it was simply amazing, think it would work with this?

Sure that would work. As far as increased depth you will get to a point of diminishing returns -- by time you get 2-3 layers of any LSP on the look isn`t going to change much with more coats. The clarity component comes more from how well polished the paint is than what LSP is used/how much of it is used.

2 thin coats for complete coverage. I wouldn`t bother topping anyway. Use the LSP you think looks best and use it as often as needed.

Personally, with an SUV that size, I`d polish out the swirls and use Opti-Seal on it. Once around the SUV with OS and done. Believe me, after you spend all day polishing it, you will appreciate an LSP that takes maybe 10 minutes tops to apply to an SUV.
