My first paid detail! Colleague’s 2007 Avensis 2nd hand. Silver ash (I think), DD, kept outside, washed in car washes perhaps once every 4-6 months (no info on previous owner’s regime).

I promised a thorough wash (including Iron-X) / clay / 1-step polish / glaze / sealing. Nothing was to be done on the interior. I just ended up doing a quick clean-up/303 session of the dash and front doors.

Products/tools used

1Z anti-insect

TW wash&wax shampoo (left over that I need to use)

Iron-X

ONR (as clay lub)

1Z clay & meg’s white clay

Menz PO203S

1Z acrysol

EZ crème

Optiseal (on paint and wheels)

FK425

CG new look trim gel

The process (around 11 hours)

Car on delivery. Looks a handfull, dull and dirty.

After pre-wash / wash / Iron-X / claying. My 1Z clay didn’t do very well with ONR so I used meg’s with no issues.

ONR evidence.

Time to inspect the finish and check paint thickness. Expected swirling and RIDS. Looked like marks from bushes or something similar along the sides. Paint thickness was healthy overall. The RHS back door troubled me both with its duller finish and higher paint thickness. It turned out that it was a replacement door after a collision.

Finished shots. The 203-orange-rotary took out only the light swirling and lessened some RIDS. Polishing only time about 4 hours. Another 1,5 hours for glazing, OS, FK425 wipe down and 30 mins on the wheels-tyres.

Overall the owner was happy. I was happier because I convinced him to buy a basic kit (I bought it for him) for the maintenance of the car. Perhaps the shine will be maintained a bit longer :).

Thanks for your time! Any comments/questions more than welcome!

Not sure what`s up with Photobucket, but are you using the correct image tag? The pictures are tiny. Shiny, but tiny.:becky:

Congrats on being a professional now! :) Great work. Your first certainly was a big project. Start a scrapbook with all your images! Great to show future customers.

Brad not to be any confusion! No where near pro or anything of the sort. Just doing small things for friends tempted to get a more shiny car and have a weekend to spare not using the car. Staying on my 9-5 as in GR now it is not a good time to do anything involving loan, debt etc.

Thanks for the kind words. :)

Thank you Porta! 203 is so easy to work with. Minimal dusting, able to extend its working with a quick spritz of water and LSP ready.
