Well they came out not to long ago, and people seem to be using them for auto detailing to get the car washed. Whats your guys opinion on it ?

Do anyone know how much it cost?

Would it really get your car clean and all the dust off ready to be polished?

heres the link to take a look at them

they started business in ca in feb 2010. sje corp started and 1996. dmf/est cleaner is about $5600.00. they currently sell aprrox. 2-3 a week. so all things considered there is probably less than 300 in service in the US. don`t know much about cleaning the exterior (paint) of the car with steam.

Seems odd the heat wouldn`t damage the clearcoat if using it on the exterior? Seems it would heat up an LSP enough to melt It off Pretty quickly too.

Seems slow and looks very likely to induce swirling IMO.

If the steam alone can remove all of the dirt and the heat doesn`t damage anything, it would be very useful. However, if you need to use a towel to remove the last bit of residual dirt, the minute amount of water from the steam cleaner will provide enough lubricity to prevent marring. Water and a towel alone cannot be used to remove any amount of dirt or dust without causing some marring. It does look interesting as a no touch way to loosen grime before you wash conventionally, which I think might reduce marring. You would still rinse and foam first, and then rinse again, and then use the steam. It also looks great for getting grime out of crevices. Maybe if you used this and followed with a waterless wash it might be effective.
