Interior detailing towels..?

I have read so many dozens of towel threads, etc. AND I`m sure I have dozens more to go.



But before anything else, I haven`t seen the answer to this:



What are you guys using to detail the interior, towel wise? What type of towel with protectant like 303 or Meguairs, what type of towel for leather maint (i use Meguiars), etc? Terry? T-shirts? MF seems to just wipe everything back off without applying anything, so not sure if this is what people are using or not..

I use a combo of cotton hand towels and worn out MF`s. The key is lint free to avoid depositing fibers on the surface. I`m not a fan of dressing interiors, but you would probably not want to use a towel for that operation. I`d use a dedicated sponge applicator and then wipe/buff with a thin towel.

Microfiber towel - I would advise caution if using Microfiber to clean or apply leather care products, if there are any weak areas of the urethane pigmentation the tiny hooks inherent in Microfiber can easily catch and remove it. Especially with older finished leather, recently applied pigmentation or a surface where soiling has been allowed to build up it is this that damages the leather finish so any cleaning process is also likely to remove the finish/pigmentation

Interesting, glad I posted then. Good discussion, but all i see is discussion on exterior surfaces?



Would you recommend cotton towels or terry cloth then for leather and dash surfaces?

I`m seeing more and more uses for my old Charismas due to this thread. Cotton terry has never failed me on interiors, I just got into the habit of mostly using MF for everything with the exception of buffing leather seats after protecting them. I`ll be using my cotton more now.
