Been off the board for a while so been doing a lot of reading. I have been using 80/83 combo on my pc for quite some time now. But I hear they changed the formula.
So I`m a fan of Megs and want to know what is a good combo to replace it. I`m seeing m105 and m205. Will 205 always finish nicely on black with a pc?
I`m also reading 151 is the replacement for m66?
And what works well by hand for the customers that don`t want to pay for a machine to be used on their vehicle. Aside from just a clay and and some type of sealant I haven`t found anything to use by hand. Thanks guys. Good to be back.

I don`t get the pay for the machine. I would charge twice as much to do a job by hand. It takes twice as long and the results are not as good.
By the way I like D151. It works great for a quick job on white or silver car

I wasn`t sure how much you had to work the polish in to get some depth back to the paint. I usually clay and lsp and it wows most people. But a once over with 66 on the pc always worked well.
What about 80 and 83? I thought they worked great on basecoat clearcoat. But if 105 and 205 would be better I would go that route

Personally I like 80 although the newer polishes like 205 might be easier to use due to the fact that the diminishing abrasive in 80 sometimes takes more skill. I also have Uno 3.0 and love the stuff. It is a lot cheaper than 105 if you get it on sale and dusts a lot less.

I`m so used to it at this point. I find it easy to use along with 83. I just want to make sure in the end I have the same end result. And mainly for my vehicles or someone who is a car fanatic.
Hell I use gold class on my customers cars and they rave over it
The 83/80 combo is fine for moderate swirls of softer clears. The problem is many cars today have hard clears that 83 won`t do much for. The answer to these is the new 105 or D151 products. Uno is also a great alternative as its more user friendly and has much less dust/cleanup issues.

Exactly what I was looking for. I don`t want to learn a whole new product line. So if was to do 105 by rotary the 205 will def clean it up by pc? Or is 151 neccessary

D151 is a one step polish and wax. If you use the 105/205 combo you will have to wax afterward

I practiced a lot yesterday with the new Flex. One thing that was removing all the marring on a white van, was putting 4 dots of 105 and 1 dot of 205 in the middle of the pad. This was on orange foam. V3 of Uno with the new foam pads worked very well as well- better with the Flex than it did with the Griots. Hard to tell under lights which was better, but I`m still drawn to 205 for every dark colored car.
I have not used any of the 80`s (numbered, no era) products by Megs. so can`t really compare beyond what is above. The UNO is very easy (effortless) to remove. With the Flex, 105 does not dust like a rotary so that`s not an issue either way.
Oh.... the new foam pads with V3 (thicker backing and stiff) move VERY smoothly with the Flex. They are smoother than any other foam pads I have.

Wags, FWIW, you can purchase smaller quantities of the D151 from ADS. Othewise, it`s by the gallon only.
Enjoy.
