Yet another 4th spent detailing. I detailed this car on the 4th, probably a good 7-8 years ago. It`s gotten pretty bad since then!

I did a couple of test spots with different pads and polishes, using the Flex. I ended up using a white Sonus polishing pad and PO106FF until I got fed up with the slow progress, then busted out the SIP and a burgundy Meguiar`s pad. It finished down with no hazing, LSP-ready. I`m guessing this is pretty hard clear :)

I also did about half the car in the sun. I don`t know why.

So, the lineup:

Wash

RainX Foaming wash with ONR & foamer

PB`s Spray and Rinse on the driver`s side wheels

Sonax on the passenger side (testing these out)

Light claying, as needed

Meg`s APC 1:1 on lower parts

Polish

PO106FF

SIP

Flex w/polish and cutting pads

Rewashed with dawn, blown out with compressor

Seal

Opti-Coat 2.0 :clap1:

Opti-Seal on the tires

After around 8 hours of work... I HAD planned on tackling the interior. NOT TODAY.

I saw the bad scratches and didn`t think you could save it. I was wrong. Nice work! Kudos!

Thanks, Brad. happy belated bday too.

The scratches in this clear seem to appear deeper than they are. Maybe they were just loaded with old wax or grime of some sort. The only thing I can think those sets of three scratches on the passenger side are from is dog claws.

It was pretty amazing to see those nasty scratches nuked!

Glad it was from that. Dogs can always be supervised but some random *9^$#@ who decided to go on a vandalism rampage is another matter.

Thanks, Bill. I`m just guessing on the dog claws, but the horizontal nature leads me to question that determination. Maybe just some obnoxious (oblivious) idiot in a parking lot with a purse, bag or zipper...

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. :)

Either way, they were light enough to remove. Glad to have made such an improvement.

I can relate, in my case a year ago I think someone more than inadvertently caused similar, but nowhere near as much damage to my former car. A PC with a 4" pad got it all out. Can`t idiot/vandal proof our cars, but at least we can polish out much of what they may leave behind.
