hey guys, i`ve almost gotten my correction to 100 percent.

(i`m wetsanding with 2k grit, body shop clear)

My process is as follows

maroon wool pad with 3m Rock in the bottle compound

maroon wool m105

orange lake country w/m105

with those 3 steps, i`am left with minor holograms, and about 85-90 percent correction.

I need another step, but i don`t know which polish to choose. I`ve been researching menzerna 106, and have heard different things.. Could i use this polish to finish up, and be lsp ready? (Please keep in mind i do need a little more correction, so not looking for any fillers whatsoever) i threw out my m205...

thanks guys!

You actually need to use a finishing pad. If you only have minor holograms with and orange pad, a finishing polish (any) with a black/blue/red pad will get it perfect.

I usually finish up with 106 and a white pad, though it won`t ALWAYS finish down perfect like that. On my black Porsche and Acura, I need 106 and a black pad to really make it perfect.

You won`t get much correction with 106, but still a little bit.

I`d still two step it to be sure. Meguiars #205 or Optimum Hyper Polish with a polishing pad followed by 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina waffle pad.

thanks for the replies guys, tdk, you might be right about the pad selection. Might purchase a black pad. Does that have any cut at all?

DNyholm would you say that 106 has alot of fillers in it? i`ve heard it does..

Scott, any pics of that optimum hyper polish in action?

I would say it has some, but I wouldn`t really say a lot. I don`t really know what to compare it to since it is the only finishing polish I`ve used.

And when you correct with it, do you ipa wipedown?

Here`s an example of Menz 106FA, via white LC pad (on Metabo rotary) on my black Porsche. This was just one pass. (I did another pass with the same combo, then 85RD and blue pad before applying an LSP)

Just posting this for the OP to see that you can get some nice correction with 106

Menzerna 106FF has fillers sufficient to conceal very serious holograms. Seen it first-hand, no question about it. Said concealing lasted maybe fivel months (under 476S, which remained intact) on a vehicle stored in a climate-controlled shop.

landcruiser, thank you for thosep pics. What i`m left with is a bit more than what you have there.. After seeing your results, I don`t think 106 could cut it for me..hmm

accumlator, thank you for your reply.. man this last step has got me busting my brains. I don`t want to go out and buy 3 compounds.. and only end up using one. I think i`ll ask david if he can give me a sample, and re-reimburse him.

What about Menzerna PO85RD, yea or nay on the heavy concealers?

IME, it`s nay because I recently bombarded my finish with New Car Prep and a IPA wipedown after jeweling with PO85RD, I saw no defects left behind. Do you guys share the same results as me?

In that case, have you considered Menz 203S? That`s a very nice polish with a broad working spectrum and possible pad combinations.

Accum--do you feel that FA is the same filler wise as FF? (You mentioned FF in your post, but wonder if you meant FA?)

Maybe these photos will be a bit more helpful to the OP and answer your question too Bill D about 85RD. A different section on my car that I cleaned up with 203S/white pad on the Metabo, then final polishing with 85RD/black pad (also on the Metabo).
