View Full Version : Where the extractor fails the pressure washer prevails.

I recently got a call from a friend who was selling her car. The vehicle was an older Mazda 3 that had light colored cloth seats that hasn`t seen a good detail in ..... well ever. See for yourself the toll the years had on these seats.

So I got the car started with my detail process. I scrubbed and scrubbed the seats. Then extracted and extracted. This yielded results but they still look pretty bad. The seats were then removed and washed with the almighty pressure washer.

The seats had no electrical features but still had cables going to them which I found odd. The cables were taped up and the seats were dried overnight in front of a fan.

I think the results will help her sell the car lol.

These carpets cleaned up as much a possible after so many years of soil they were very stubborn. Still not the best looking but an improvement!

Interesting, the results came out great tho! Good job.

Also, I believe those cables are for the airbag sensor, just be careful with them as that`s obviously pretty important ha.

Very nice!

What products did you use before the pressure washer?

I used a mytee lite II extractor. I used a carpet cleaner that is made by a local company, their cleaners have proven to be very effective. Here`s the link. http://www.icsbc.ca/media/Rapid-XR.pdf

Does anyone know if a steam cleaner would produce similar results I have yet to add it to my arsenal?

I had similar situation but instead of using a PW, i used a carpet brush attachment on my Flex DA and used that to scrub with some APC/shampoo mix, then extracted with the MyteeLite. Yeild nearly same results as you. I got the attachement from chemical guys.

Nice improvement. I`ve dealt with those types of seats (cloth F150 interiors have them too) and they can be a real nightmare to get completely clean when something gets spilled into them.
