Who here takes off there wedding ring when there detailing? Im always afraid of scratching a car with it, but im not sure how the wife would feel if i took it off. Especially if i forgot to put it back on after a long night of detailing!

Very rarely do I leave mine on, but I`ll usually put it on my necklace when I`m forced to keep the reminder with me. :rules::ballchain::violin::whip:

Just one of the many reasons I prefer being/staying single! No rings to worry about.

My fingers have gotten fatter since I got married so I couldn`t wear mine even if I wanted to.

In all honesty, if your wife actually got mad because you took your ring off for work (which in many physical workplaces is actually a WCB requirement), then your wife has some insecurity issues. Not trying to be rude or anything, but a piece of metal shouldn`t be the only thing holding someone back from being unfaithful.

My wife told me I should take mine off when Im detailing! Mine has the issue of falling off when Im washing the car, so I think she would rather me not lose it...lol!

I dont think she would get mad. I was just wondering who did actually take theres off. Some people cant get theres off anymore from there fingers getting bigger. I dont wear any other jewlery or a belt so thats no worry.

I hardly *EVER* wear mine, as in virtually never unless we`re going out (guess it`s part of "dressing up" for me). Nah, Accumulatorette couldn`t care less.

I hardly ever wear my watch any more either, always have to rewind/reset it because it runs down between wearings (and no, I don`t use my cell phone as a watch :grinno: My natural sense of time is close enough for most stuff).

As for the "when detailing" aspect of all this, I wear specific stuff when I`m doing any such work, from working on the vehicles to working in the yard.

I like my clothes and watches and such as much as cars but I rarely do more than QD with the ng mostly because Im out in parking lot somewhere or I see a quick haze mark in the garage I gotta nuke Havent marred anything let but with a full detail I really ought to get a MF jump suit

I`m a stylin` kind of guy and love clothes and watches and stuff like that as much as cars. I always dress well. I`ll get away only with QDing when I`m all decked out, say when I`m out in a parking lot and notice a smudge or when I spotted something quickly in the garage. Doing a real detail is different. The jewelry and watches come off and get their own detail in the ultrasonic machine and then buffed later with some rouge if I`m out doing the car, especially if it`s an undercarriage detail session up on the lift. Gotta hate the experience of grease literally raining down on you, wearing junky clothes or not! All of that said, I can`t count how many times I`ve stained a nice pair of pants after reaching over to wipe something down. Black tire marks on attire when having to attend a meeting right afterward makes me run for cover behind the conference table right away! :o

Heh heh, when I`m wearing non-work clothes, I don`t even *think* of doing anything that could result in stained clothing. I`ve been known to change into (and then back out of) work clothes just to clean a windshield!

Now that`s something I must aspire to! I gotta have a pair of yard work pants in the trunk or better yet do that Jason Statham/Frank Martin thing from Transporter 2 with fresh suits all folded nicely ready to go at all times :D :chuckle:

I always take mine off anymore. I used to leave it on, however, it seems to get all crapped up when cleaning wheels, buffing, etc. Although, I usually buff it out with a dremel tool, wool wheel pad and some jewelers rouge once a month to make it nice and shiny and get rid of any daily scratches. I don`t know about any of you, but mine gets scratched like crazy just from simple stuff like driving, cutting the grass, etc.
