I`m noticing a nasty smell coming from the water that comes from my extractor. I imagine it needs a really good cleaning gone through it. I usually use some extractor solution that I run through it to help clean the carpets. What methods do you guys use to get the insides all cleaned up?

Vinegar, helps keep the lines and tips clean too.

We aren`t going to start talking about removing swirl marks on the extractor, are we? :)

How much does a reasonably priced extractor cost? I am thinking of adding one to my arsenal of home detailing tools!

IMO you can`t beat a Mytee, I have the HP60 now and the 8070 in the past. Quality machines with the BEST support.

If you get a lot of nasty mold/mildew in the extractor, you might want to run some bleach through it. I`ve never done it with my Century/Ninja, but it did clean up one of my consumer-level ones OK.
