I finally broke out the porter cable I bought last year for a full detail. I might go over the car again when it warms up more but I did a quick pass and it took out a lot of the swirls. I didn`t get any good before pics and of course it rained as soon as I finished so no close ups. Here`s how she looks though! scroll over a bit so they`re centered, they`re a little bit cut off on here

this is:

Meguiars clay bar kit

Meguiars 105 (orange pad)

Meguiars fine cut cleaner (orange pad)

Mequiars #26

Mothers wheel cleaner

Armor All tire shine (want something less glossy and longer lasting)

Looks good, nice beading.

How did the polishing go? Was it easier or harder than you expected?

Nice job. I`ve been a fan of that car. If your looking for a low gloss and long lasting tire treatment, try Zaino Z-16. It last forever and for the money its a great deal. Check it out.

Nice car! I especially like the way the ZR1 wheels look on it.

I`m curious why you picked the Fine Cut Cleaner as your second step after M105 though... just what you had on hand? Or was there some other reason? The "old school" Meguiar`s products aren`t very common to hear mentioned anymore, so it seems like an interesting (yet obviously effective) choice. :think2

thanks for the comments guys

the buffing was a little slower than I was expecting, I didn`t think it would take as long as it did but overall I think it went pretty well for my first time. I got lazy as I was finishing so a few panels I think I`ll go over them again. and I`ll look into that tire shine.

I originally bought the fine cut cleaner before I even got the buffer because I though that would be as aggressive as I would need, but I tried that along with the pinnacle stuff that came with my buffer in a few areas and wasn`t as effective as I was hoping so I just got the 105 and followed it with the fine cut
