2001 BMW 740. Current owner inherited it from his Dad and wanted it cleaned up to sell. Paint was pretty good but dirty, interior needed a lot of work.

2002 Honda S2000. Car is up for sale, owner just picked up an Audi S4. He`d already washed and clayed it, just wanted me to add some pop to the paint to make it easier to sell.

2007 Acura MDX. The paint could use some pretty intense polishing but the owner is a teacher so between what students might do to it (already had one area that had been keyed) and a teacher`s salary, it was just a basic 1 polishing step detail.

2007 Chrysler Sebring. Owner of the company was paying for the detail since the car`s owner received a compliment for her work on a client`s loan. The car was covered in holograms and all I was told to do was a 1 polishing step detail. Didn`t even bother taking befores since I wasn`t expecting much improvement. I decided to try using Optimum Hyper Polish with an orange Optimum cutting pad and my Dewalt 849 rotaray. It did an amazing job removing the holograms and knocking down the spider swirls without leaving any holograms of its own. In retrospect, I should have taken before and afters. Car didn`t come out perfect, still a lot of spider swirls left (they were really, really bad) but the holograms are gone and the paint looked significantly richer and darker.

Just a few pictures, the sun angle over the building was making it hard to get good shots-plus my camera, which was decent 3 years ago, kind of sucks now.

2008 Cadillac Escalade ESV. Owned by the son of the topless club owner customer of mine who died last year. The son is living in his Dad`s house now, sold his Escalade and kept his Dad`s larger Escalade ESV. Needed a lot of work inside and out, really not worth doing a correction on the paint, too many scratches, etched water spots, etc. The kid isn`t going to take care of it all that well so no sense spending two days in the paint. The 26" wheels were at least easy to clean and once I got the dog hair (he has a couple murder dogs) out of the interior, it wasn`t as bad as initially feared.

2008 Pontiac Solstice. Owner of the car has been struggling with a pretty serious illness so he wasn`t in a spending mood, just wanted the car protected like the RX350 above. Plus I polished it pretty good the last time and the paint still looked decent.

2011 BMW 535, really like the new redesign, got rid of a lot of the Bangle influence and brought back a little E39 styling and some E90/92 styling cues too. Really good condition, went over with the owner how to take proper care of the paint in between details so it should look similarly good next time I go out.

Golf cart. I do these every once in a while, this one was by far the worst I`ve done. Really needs a lot of work beyond just detailing but since it is used by the maintenance guys, I was given a strict budget to work with and they certainly have no plans to repaint it.

Ok I have a few questions. What do you use to clean tires and wheels and wheel wells? And after you do your polishing do you do any sort of IPA wipe down, or just wipe off the polish and apply lsp? Thanks

Awesome work as always Scott. Your work never ceases to impress me. You`ve proven time and time again that you don`t need a shop full of supplies or an exhaustive/complex process to achieve fantastic results.

Question, are all the office parking lots you`re working in setup with an electrical outlet near by or have you gone to a small generator?

Scottwax- Glad to see those nice older BMWs (that 740 is great, he oughta keep it!). Sorry to hear so many of your customers are facing various challenges though.

Hope the kid (how long do we get to keep calling him that ;) ) with the Escalade makes some good choices, if you know what I mean.

You`re really getting a lot of use out of the Optimum Hyper Polish, huh? What do you think of it (gee, I can tell you like it, but what`s it like to work with in your opinion)? How`s the work time, like..is it forever-long the way the older OCP was?

I use ONR and a variety of brushes for the wheels and fenderwells, have some videos on youtube, same username as here.

I don`t do an IPA wipedown on 1 polishing step jobs since correction isn`t the goal of the customer. On full corrections, I do.

Mike-99% of the time there is electrical access within 150 feet of where I will be working. Otherwise I just schedule a weekend detail at the customer`s house. Been doing it like that 17 years, hasn`t been a problem.

Accumulator-seeing as he is only a year older than my oldest son, he`s still a kid to me. Plus, when I first started detailing his Dad`s cars, he was 8 when he really was a kid.

Love using OHP, decent cut and a very long work time.

So how are you liking the HD Poxy ???

I think it leaves a pretty nice wet finish.

Love the older 7 series as well, hate the Bangled ones. HD Proxy is a really nice wax, like tdekany says, it makes the paint look thicker. Customers seem to like it too. Not sure how it will work with the summer coming up and often working out in the full sun. Usually go with Opti-Seal and Carnauba Moose then since they are utterly goof-proof in the heat.

Excellent work on all! I love the BMWs, the M5 and 740i still look awesome, and the new one (F10 I think is what they call it) has classy looks that rival the E39, IMO.
