If durability is not a factor, what are the advantages of putting a layer of carnauba wax over a synthetic sealant? I`ve prepped my car (polished, glazed. Ready for LSP) and I`m going to wax tomorrow and I`m looking for some opinions on differences/advantages of having a wax over a sealant, durability notwithstanding.

A disadvantage I feel is that waxes tend to attract more dust than sealants do.

Some feel that sealants give a dry/sterile shine and by topping them with carnuaba, the increase the richness (depth, color, "warmth") of the paint in other words they like the look a carnuaba wax gives the paint, but want the protection of a sealant too.

Right. The supposed benefit is that that wax will make things look better on certain paints. I`d *MUCH* rather have the ability to add more sealant later, so I`ve completely quit doing this wax-topper stuff; if I want to see that look I simply use the wax by itself and skip the sealant.

For protection, the wax is a sacrificial lamb. I like putting wax over a sealant.
