any tips and tricks for the rest without turning it to goop? i dont think just going crazy with the hose will cut it.

i have lots of megs apc+ and 12oz of diluted apc, willing to try something else if otc(by monday) and significantly more environmentally friendly than coolant., Also have a couple nylon brushes, dont think my assortment of microfiber polishes and waxes will help. rust is not a concern where i live, i am not concerned about the paints finish, just that it is NOT removed. does not need to be spotless, i just want to be as clean or cleaner than a daily driver. Oh time estimates would be great too.

parked 15 years ago, rats for about 10 yrs.

not a ford.

was looking for tips on the cleaning stage. less elbow grease the better.

the crap between the hoses is 1/2" thick. so best way to clean that all over the bay.

ps. in advance sorry i am not looking for autopian standards at this stage.

2002 tii - a `72. You are lucky. Very lucky.

I`m not much of an expert on cleaning engine bays, I can`t provide much input other than liberal APC use - but I love this car and had to post.

Does it start? You may want to worry about flushing fluids first, getting it running, then you can worry about the cleaning.

Pinto? Really?

I would use a steamer along with a degreaser

yes!!! cant remember the exact year but its a roundie.

trying to get it cleaned out enough to where i feel comfortable pulling the spark plugs. not even sure if the engine is siezed hoping AZ has been kind. need it cleaner.

need to turn motor over, change fluids, drop gas tank, repair wireing, then well see if it wants to come back to life after 15 years. plus a few other small steps.

Pay someone to put it on a lift and pressure wash the top and bottom of the engine and drivetrain. Then worry about detailing it.

Be sure to wear a respirator working around rat feces. You don`t want to inhale it.

Degreaser will eat though smashed bugs, well as a pre-treat. The steam would do most of the work.

You could always try a pressure washer.

Can`t really see the pics well on my phone, but vacuum up the loose debris, then try pressure washing the excess. Then go with apc and the pressure washer after you let it dwell for a while.

Good luck with it. It isn`t a project I`d want to undertake!

ok so i guess ill just

blow/vacuum out the rest of the loose stuff

pressure wash

apc soak

pressurewash and brush

so essentially just spray it down like crazy, cool.

need to go buy an awesome hose nozzle now... currently searching for employment....
