Here`s a detail I did towards the end of summer i for got to post up, I actually haven`t posted any cars in a while so here ya go. A friend has been wanting me to detail his G for a couple years now and we finally made it happen. The car hasn`t been polished in years and the paint really showed it. In the sun a red car, if not properly maintained, will lose it`s sharpness and clarity in the paint. I was on a little bit of a time crunch so I totally forgot to take some close up before pics but I have some recent pics of his car so you will easily be able to tell how crisp it now looks. Here`s the products I ended up using...

Meguiars Gold Class Soap

Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay

Monzerna SIP

Wolfgang Swirl Remover

Monzerna 106FF

Mothers aluminum Polish

Meguiars Ultimate Interior Protectant

Zaino Z-16 on tires

Eagle One A-Z to clean tires

Black Fire Wet Diamond Sealant

Lake County orange and white pads

Porter Cable XP

So here are some pictures of how his car looked before I detailed it. You can tell there isn`t any "pop" to the paint and it looks kind of dull. If there were direct sun shots, you would have seen just how swirled up the paint was.

Here`s some before and after shots.

After

Mark had a clear bra on his side mirrors he had taken off and you can see how the part that wasn`t covered was very oxidized by the sun.

The wheels on the car were pretty much trashed and in need of refinishing. I didn`t think I`d be able to do anything for them because the lips were so dull and stained. I used some Mothers metal polish and my machine to see if I could get ANY reflectivity back into the lip. Here`s what one looked like before. (pics do NO justice as to how bad they looked).

Much to my surprise...after!

Notice how it`s hazy and stained?

My biggest pet peeve is when a detailer posts pics of a car they detailed yet don`t show any sun shots so you can actually appreciate how much the paint was actually corrected because the sun shows all the imperfections! So here`s a few sun shots.

Finally, here are some shots of the car after it was polished, rewashed and sealed. Now you can really tell how much the paint pops and how sharp and crisp the color is.

So there you have it. This detail took about 9 or 10 hours and I was able to get a solid 90+% correction of the paint. there were a few spots with pretty deep scratches I wasn`t able to fully correct but overall I`m very happy with how the car came out. I`m no photographer and again, these pictures do the car NO justice. The shine was incredible, even a neighbor walking by stopped and commented how they have never seen a car shine like that before, that made me smile pretty big. Thanks for looking.

Car looks great!

Can you go over the process you used for the polished lips on the wheels? My wheels look just like the "before" pics and I`d like to get the same results that you had. Thanks in advance!
