after about 2 hours of wetsanding and polishing, we have these 50/50 shots

background on the hood: this is for our supra, and we bought it cheap locally from a bodyshop that had a non-paying customer leave it there for a year. it has overspray ALL over it. how it`s pictured here is AFTER washing/claybarring the entire hood and only polishing the passenger side.

One of the best 50/50 in a very long time. Post when finished.

thanks guys! my girl`s out joy-riding in the car right now (it`s our car but she bought it and we split the tt-swap on it amongst other things). she`s showing it off to her parents for the first time since I finished the motor swap on it.

is that the Meguiars Maroon Wool pad?

If so, what compound steps are you using?

looks great btw!

yessir! basically, I only used that pad on the deep swirls with m105. the rest of the hood, i just used m105 and a megs yellow diamond cut pad, followed up with a finishing pad and some menz 85rd. i should have a few finished shots of the entire hood in the next day or 2.

that is an amazing 50/50 effort. reminds me of the old as seen on TV `Nu Finish` commercials and the junk yard hoods... but yours actually works?! :)
