So Today I tested out the New HD UNO Version 2 and Although I love the work time over Megs and the no dusting is WAY better than Megs I still had problem taking it off. All though I would say MORE came off this time but still some on their and didnt quite finish as good as I hoped.

I just debadged my trunk today and polished it out it was in really bad condition

Lots of swirls on my trunk and still the outline of the letters of the badge I just took off my trunk.

What I was working with

Here is after a few passes with the NEW HD UNO and you can see the remains of what would not wipe off

Followed up with M205 on White pad to remove the hazing and bring to a high shine

That was the left side of my trunk.

Now for the right side

I used less product on this side and it did come off a little better but still kinda hazy didnt finish real well and still some stuborn product would not wipe off

And finished it with M205 on white pad again to remove the hazy look

Maybe you received the original version? :D My bottle is so easy to remove it isn`t even funny. Easier than a liquid sealant.

Maybe because my Paint is SUPER soft?? IDK but the pictures are right there to prove it and you can obviously see a difference in clarity of the paint with HD UNO on it and after I got done with M205.

Maybe different kind of clears react different?

I`m surprised too, I have NEVER worked on an Infiniti with soft paint.

Weird.. Because I am on the site G35DRIVER.COM - INFINITI G35 (SKYLINE) FORUMS, GALLERY, CHAT, AND MORE. (http://www.g35driver.com) and they ALL complain how easily their cars get scratched and swirl`d

That doesn`t mean that the paint is soft. Under hood isn`t there a sticker with "hard clear" written on it?

you could of used too much product , or not worked it long enough / or too long . real hard to say since i wasnt there but it looks like you got holograming in the pic ! there is alot that plays a role here as well like the speed of the pc, the speed of your passes , dirty pad / not cleaned from previous use good enough, etc. either way m105 is a great product but you shouldnt have any prob at all with the uno ...

I`d have to bet that part of the reason Uno was hazy and not finishing well was the orange pad. Did you try more Uno on a white pad to see if it cleared up the haze?

Yeah, I`m curious what would happen if:

-You followed up with a polishing (white) pad

-Wiped UNO residue with IPA

-Also wiped the 205 side with IPA

Well if that was the case Where you HAVE To finish with a white pad then in my book its still something I wouldnt use because I dont want to HAVE to do anything. I want a polish that will finish pretty well on about any pad. For example M105 on orange finishes better than that. M205 on Orange finishes better than that. I wouldnt purchase a polish that I HAVE to do anything with.

Also I dont want a product that I have to measure the exact amount I use each time. I want a product thats easy to work with where if a little too much goes on the pad then you get more working time but it finishes good still. Seems like its a very sensitive product where results come out different depending on if you use too much product or too less product. When doing a car I dont want to have to measure the EXACT amount of polish I put on the pad each time.

Once again M105 and M205 I have put too much on before and I have put too less on and I still get the same results..

Remember these products are supposed to be ease of use for customers not just a few people.. They want EVERYONE to be able to use the product easily ranging from Newbies to elites.

Thanks for your comments and trying out our Beta Batch. We are always open to feed back of any kind.

What we are most concerned with is the end result. In your case, using HD Uno with a polish and finishing pad vs the M105 & M205 with a polishing and finishing pad.

After doing this, what is the final results on ease of removal, haziness, time taken to polish, and the look after an IPA wipe down.

The condition of the paint looked like it had a lot of scratches/swirls to begin with so its a good test bed.

Thanks!

I am just going to say that this post of yours doesn`t sounds very good. :D

If you want a polish that will correct, polish and finish in one step on black, why do you think Meguiar`s made 205 for?

On another note, UNO`s original version can be a bit difficult to remove but one thing I can say is that the new batch is a completely different animal. I know you are a newbie, but removal of the new polish is a non issue with what I was sent.

PS: your car`s paint is the second worst paint I have ever worked on.

I think the issue so far is you.

You should stick to 105/205 (wonderful products)

:hairpull Try the orange cutting pad and the 205, do an IPA wipedown and enjoy the same results. UNO does not cover, 205 has plenty of oils that do. While you are wishing, why don`t you wish for an AIO that takes paint as trashed as yours and makes it perfect.

People like you are the EXACT reason there is a consumer line and a professional line.

Hey guys,

I appreciate you coming to the defense of HD Uno, but dont rip him too much.

If warranted or not, it will make those who are inexperienced fearful of posting.
