I have no clue why; but my dad`s practically brand new (January 2010) 335i was horribly marred and had very bad surface contamination.
Every time I would look at the car in the daylight it would make my cringe. As you can see below; it was bad.

Washed, clayed (took me forever and the bar is now in the trash), then off to use the PC to polish.

After:
As my second time doing a paint correction, I`m pretty happy with the results. There are still some fine scratches that you can see (I`m assuming a rotory would need to get those out). Regardless, the black looks deeper, darker, and way glossier.
Compared to how it looked before; I would say it looks ten times better.
