I don`t know if this belongs here, so if it doesn`t, hopefully a mod will move it for me.

So I have a Ferrari SuperAmerica scheduled for Monday so I decided to try out some new correction combos that I haven`t had the chance to so far. My background is in yacht detailing so needless to say I`m pretty good with a rotary, so I have always used one for major corrections.

I recently ordered some 5.5" Surbufs to experiment with and decided to throw them on my Griot`s to tackle one of my project cars. It hasn`t seen wax in probably 5-6 years. The car is a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS that`s in terrible condition...so bad that I thought there was no chance of restoring it.

Process was simply as follows:

M105 on 5.5" surbuf via Griot`s (not primed in any way, just applied to pad then worked on speed 5-6 for 2 section passes)

M205 on 5.5" LC White via Griots (primed and worked on speed 5-6 using my own variation of the KBM, BBM for 2 section passes)

no LSP was used, I had to make it back to watch the game.. :getdown

Immediately after the m105 on the surbuf I was blown away by the results. It was just as if I used a rotary and yellow.

I am having issues with my SLR camera so all I could take photos with was a cellphone but you get the idea.

Here are the photos, its hard to see the true level of correction but there are zero swirls or blemishes left over. Quite impressed!

This is what I have to work with. Every defect you can imagine. Everything that didn`t look like this was ridden with swirls, RIDS and all the rest : (

HighlandDetail- Glad to hear the SurBufs worked so well for you too, seems like everybody likes `em. I`ll be using them with M105 on the beater-projects one of these days and it`s reassuring to hear good feedback.
