I had a 30" matte black stripe on my car for about 3 months. In the past 2 weeks I put on either 3 or 4 coats of BFWD. Well I took the stripe off tonight and there was some adhesive left on. I first did a dawn wash and then I used 50/50 70% IPA and that got most of the adhesive off but not all. So I did a pass with orange ccs and 105. This got the adhesive off but not the sealant. I only worked the 30" area and a little over.
Well, there is a definitive straight line where the the stripe was. I thought maybe the car had faded in 3 months but when I wiped the IPA it acted completely different from one side to the other. Is this normal? It was only one pass but shouldnt it come right off with the IPA? Im going to polish the entire car anyway but this is doesnt seem possible.:think:
