Hello everybody! Lately Ive been practicing a lot of polishing and wet sanding and my previous project was my brothers car 2006 Pasifica. One side was repainted and other side quarter (uneven high readings) other was original and you can tell by the pretty even readings. The orange peel was bad on both sides but sanding marks and orange peel was worse on repainted side Also the readings were healthy on original clear (160+/- but on top of the door by the window it was 120 which wasn`t needed to be wet-sanded anyways. just a small 1 or 2 centimeters wide.

Areas that were not wet-sanded were roof, rear bumper front bumper (the front bumper was wetsanded and polished by me earlier.)

The correction was 1500 then 2000

purple foam and twisted wool m105 (on some parts i didn`t like the cut of twisted wool so i switched to pfwp) then orange lc pad and m105 then m205 on white lc pad. sealed with black fire by DA. all plastic was protected with 303. Also thanks to Barry Theal, he helped me with some questions!

now lets see the pics!

Damn, dude. You make that look easy. Great work. The owner must feel just like when he/she drove it off the lot for the 1st time.

thanks man! just go ahead and start practicing! ull over sand a couple first cars(couple spots i mean lol) but eventually ull get the feeling of how much u need to go more, also clear coats are different too! some are harder to make perfect and some are easy. like the original clear was harder to do and repainted was really really easy.(easier i mean) practice o cars or parts from junkyard or something, try your own cars first.

Impressive work. I have yet to do any form of wetsanding and am always impressed of the results. I do know that there is a learning curve.Your post made it look easy.

Ohh man it wasn`t easy! Even though its not my first time still wet sanding is not an easy task to do even for a professional. (which am not yet)

if you think your going to be taking on more projects like that, u may want to look into a DA, itll cut down SOOOOO much time on your sanding.

otherwise good job, where in sac are you at?

also your dad paints? does he by chance do fiberglass work?
